Gochcar works when everyone treats each other well. These guidelines apply to riders and drivers: treat everyone with respect, help keep each other safe, and follow the law.
Treat everyone with respect
- Be punctual, courteous and calm, and leave the vehicle clean.
- No physical contact beyond what is needed to help someone, no sexual comments or behaviour, and no aggressive, threatening or harassing conduct.
- After a trip, do not contact the other person except to return a lost item.
No discrimination
Do not refuse service, cancel or rate someone lower because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability or any other protected trait. Do not avoid neighborhoods because of the people who live or work there. Discriminatory remarks and slurs are not allowed. Report discrimination from the trip in your history (Report a problem) or by contacting support.
Help keep each other safe
- Do not share your account. Only the driver, the rider who requested and their guests may be in the vehicle.
- Everyone wears a seat belt. Children must ride in a car seat where the law requires one (the rider provides it).
- Drivers use an approved vehicle in good condition and drive safely and soberly.
- Use trip sharing and the SOS button when you need them. In an emergency call 911 first.
- Recording may be subject to consent laws; do not post other people's recordings publicly.
Property
Do not damage vehicles or belongings. The person responsible pays for repair and cleaning, and intentional damage can lead to losing access.
Follow the law
- Follow traffic laws; riders must not ask drivers to break them.
- No illegal drugs, open alcohol containers or firearms in the vehicle, as far as the law allows. Drivers may decline riders who are intoxicated or disruptive.
- Service animals and assistive devices cannot be refused (see Accessibility).
- No fraud: no false information, fake accounts, manipulated trips or ratings, and no rides or payments outside the app.
Feedback, reporting and consequences
Rate your trips and report problems from your trip history or Help. If you break these guidelines you may lose access to part or all of the Platform, and serious conduct (violence, discrimination, sexual misconduct, harassment, fraud) can lead to immediate removal. We may put an account on hold during an investigation and we cooperate with law enforcement. Drivers who repeatedly cancel or decline requests may have their access restricted.
